Istanbul Sufi Ceremonies Ensemble Performs at the 28th Fes World Sacred Music Festival

On May 18, 2025, the Istanbul Sufi Ceremonies Ensemble performed the Sema Ceremony and Devrân-ı Şerîf as part of the 28th edition of the Fes World Sacred Music Festival. Held annually in the historic city of Fez, Morocco, since 1994, the festival is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious platforms for sacred and spiritual music. Recognized by UNESCO for its role in fostering cultural dialogue and peace, it brings together artists and audiences from diverse traditions and continents. The ensemble’s performance captivated an audience of approximately 4,500 people, offering a profound encounter with the spiritual heritage of the Ottoman world. With each movement and melody, the group invited the audience into a timeless atmosphere—one that resonated deeply across the magnificent festival setting. The hall remained silent throughout, as spectators followed the ritual in awe and reverence.
