İskender Cüre was born in 1991 in Samsun. He completed his secondary education at Samsun Social Sciences High School. In 2009, he was awarded first place in the field of sociology in the national Research Projects Competition for High School Students organized by TÜBİTAK, with his project titled “The Relationship Between Fan Communities and Acts of Violence Observed During Football Matches: The Case of Samsunspor.” He completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Sociology at Galatasaray University with a thesis entitled “The Relationship Between Tophane Kadirihane Lodge and Kasımpaşa Uşşaki Lodge and Their Respective Neighborhoods.” He earned his master’s degree in sociology at Istanbul Medeniyet University with a qualitative study titled “Narrative and Music in the Construction of Social Memory and Identity: A Case Study on the Cerrahi Order.” He is currently pursuing a PhD in the Department of Cultural Studies at Yıldız Technical University. Alongside his work as an editor for books, television, and newspapers, he also serves as a social media coordinator. Since 2018, he has been working as an artist under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye. İskender Cüre is fluent in English, French, and Persian. He is married and has one child.
